World Cup prayer campaign

We want to see Jesus lifted high among every tribe, tongue and nation! Join Revive as we tag along with this global football tournament as a fun way to intercede for our nations together.

Starting 20 November, we are drawing the names of two European countries per match day, and all of us will cry out to God to move in those two countries, then two more, then two more and so on.

Not a football fan? Not able to pray during matches? No problem! Simply pray for the two European countries anytime you’d like that day.

Here’s how you can participate:

Watch our daily videos on Instagram 20 Nov to 18 Dec to find out which two countries to pray for during a given day’s match.

During key moments of a match, use the tips below (or your own creative ideas) to pray for the two European countries we chose for that day.

National anthems remind citizens of their country’s glory, beauty, and rich heritage. They can also be about loyalty to one’s country.

When a national anthem is being sung, you could:

▶️ Play and sing a worship song about God’s glory and beauty.

💎 Thank God for the cultural beauty and heritage of the two European country’s citizens.

👑 Read Psalm 33 or another verse/passage as a declaration that God is the Lord of the two European countries.

Goals are a time to celebrate and an important step toward victory.

When either team scores a goal, you could:

🙌 Praise God that He will one day revive today’s two countries.

❤️‍🔥 🎓 Ask God to revive the hearts of people and the universities in the two countries.

✝️ Read 1 Corinthians 15:57 or another verse/passage as a declaration that Jesus’ death and resurrection are bringing victory in both countries.

Breaks are a time for the team to regroup and see how they can improve, regardless of the score. The coach may praise the team for what has been going well so far, and redirect or reenergize the team if they’re not playing to their potential.

At the halftime break, you could:

🤩 Ask God to show Christians in the two countries how He loves them no matter what they have achieved in His name.

🔎 Ask God to show Christians in the two countries what may need to adjust so that they can have greater impact for the Kingdom.

👍 Read 2 Timothy 4:1-8 or another verse/passage over the countries’ Christians as an encouragement to continue running the race.

Yellow and red cards are given as discipline when wrong behavior has occurred.

Whenever a player receives a yellow or red card, you could:

☠️ Pray for citizens of these two countries to confess sin and give up idols that keep them from God.

❤️‍🩹 Pray for God to heal brokenness in individuals, groups, and systems in these two countries.

⚖️ Read Zechariah 7:9-10 or another verse/passage as a declaration that God’s justice will be done in these countries.

When the referee decides the match has ended, the competition is over and any further actions don’t count toward the result of the match.

At the end of the match, you could:

😀 Read Deuteronomy 20:4 as a declaration that God is the one who brings spiritual victory for both of these countries.

😢 Read Psalm 34:18 as a declaration of God’s comfort for those who are brokenhearted and experiencing loss in these countries.

👐 Yield to God your own desires for what will happen in these two countries by joining Jesus’ prayer of “not my will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
